Description

RECEIPT FOR A LADIES' WHITE STRAW HAT WITH FLOWERS AND FRUIT BAND Color: Black; Brown; Red A receipt for a ladies' straw hat with a band of false flowers and fruit, ca. 1930s. The item is a standard receipt, including a preprinted number at the top left, spaces for department, clerk number, date, method of payment, amount received, total sale, article description and price, sales tax, customer's signature and address, and other information on it. At the bottom is the store name and address. At the far bottom is the name of the printer. Because the date is given as 3/29, the seller of the item assumed the year was 1929 when it is actually the day of the month. The type font on the receipt and the box indicate a 1930s date. With corner and center creases and light printing fading, the object is in good condition.
