RECEIPT, HOTEL DE LA UNION TO WALTER P. TEMPLE, 20 NOVEMBER 1894
A receipt from the Hotel de la Union, Guanajuato, Mexico to Walter P. Temple, 20 November 1894. On a standard form with the name of the hotel at top; the city and date line below; the line for customer's name beneath this; and the names of the proprietors, Gomez, Conto and Georgeon underneath the customer's name, the form has columns and lines for transactions. Toward the lower left is a revenue stamp with the Mexican seal and over this the hotel stamp. Written in black ink at the top (after the number 114 was crossed out) is the number 97. From the 18th to the 20th of November, Temple was charged for lunches and board to the total of 7 pesos, 38 centavos. Signed by the proprietors. On the back is written in Walter Temple's hand in black ink, "Hotel Bill / Mexico." The document is in fair condition, with folds into quarters; an inch and a half long tear at upper center; much foxing and small acid stains; creases; bent corners; and discoloration.See description.
