PHOTOGRAPH, RED CROSS COTTAGE AT BARLOW SANITARIUM, LOS ANGELES, 1920s. Taken from a street, the view shows what appears to be a newly-constructed one-story Craftsman-style cottage with several windows across the front and a number of short pillars along a patio. A walk leading to some stairs that descend a short slope to the street. Two other structures, barely visible on either side, flank the building, and a short, bare hill is in the background. On the reverse is the pencil inscription "Red Cross Cottage". The sanitarium is still located in the Elysian Park area, though it is not known if the cottage is. With mounting corner residue at two corners, some minor soiling, and yellowing at the right, the condition is good.Lexicon
