Description

A rosary and a pouch belonging to Eva Ferguson, ca. 1920s. The silver rosary (a) contains a loop of beads, a crucifix, and three medallions. One medallion has a carving of Jesus holding the cross on one side and the Blessed Virgin Mary on the other. Another medallion has Saint Teresa and an inscription on the back "Will Spend My Heaven Doing Good Upon Earth." The last medallion has the figure of the Jesus and his Sacred Heart as well as the Lady of Mt. Carmel on the back. The dating of the rosary was given by looking at the year St. Teresa was canonized in 1925 by Pope Pius XI. The pouch (b) is made of leather and has gold script embossed on the flap "My Rosary" and a button to fasten it close, has a stain but is in good condition. The rosary is in good condition with some tarnish as well as the pouch.
