Description

REPLICATED COURTYARD DOOR IN LA CASA NUEVA LIBRARY TEMPORARILY HUNG Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the reproduced wood door to the courtyard from the La casa Nueva library hung temporarily, ca. 1979. Taken from the outside, in the courtyard, the door is shown in a rough state, with bare, unpainted wood; plain glass panels, before the reproduced author's portraits were installed; and without hardware. On either side of the door is the frame, painted white, perhaps with primer. Although portions of the plastered wall on either side of the door are visible, there are no other identifying features of note. At the bottom of the artifact is an inscription in green ink reading "Library Door - Temporarly [sic] Hung / in place - Needs Hard Ware. / 3/20/79." In good condition, the object shows little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
