Description
REPLICATED DECORATIVE CAST-IRON HINGES FOR LA CASA NUEVA
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of a pair of decorative cast-iron hinge replicated for the reproduced doors leading from the Main Hall to the Library and Dining Room, ca. 1979. The hinges stand on a work table and feature rectangluar vertical bars at the ends, welded horizontal pieces at the middle of the bars and the decorative figure of a monkey adorning the top of the hinge. The table appears to be located in the restoration contractor's office at the Workman House and, in the background, there are boxes of files; calendars and papers pinned to a board on the wall and other items. An inscription at the bottom of the object in pencil reads "Temple House Hardware :# 1 & 2 / Two Pair For Library to Hall / " " " Dining Rm " "." With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
