Description

REPLICATED DOOR PANELS FOR LA CASA NUEVA LIVING ROOM Color: Brown A copy of a color polaroid photograph of a replicated door panel for La Casa Nueva's Living Room, 25 September 1979. The close-up is of a square panel featuring a shield at the center with two axes crossed behind the shield and extending from the top corners. Within the shield are unidentified symbols. At the bottom and sides of the shield is a design with C-scrolls and floral-like elements. At the top is part of a tiled wall like that seen in item .898 and other images, indicating the plaque rested on a wood work table prior to its installation in the doors leading from the Living Room to the eastern side of the house. On the reverse is an inscription in black ink reading "Temple Mansion / Wood door carving / in progress - for / (dr. 105/106 East entry / to Living Rm.) / photo by archt. 9/25/79." Under this, covered with a piece of tape, is a stamp for restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and telephone number. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
