Description

REPLICATED LA CASA NUEVA BASEMENT DOOR BEING PAINTED Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the painting of the replicated La Casa Nueva basement door panel, ca. 1979. The door, hung in place at the top of the basement stairs, is being painted by a construction worker, which stands at the end of the door, painting the reverse side a dark brown color. A bucket of paint sits on the ground next to the door and a portion of a wheelbarrow is at lower right. The wood frame for the basement entrance is painted a light blue and, at the bottom of the stairs, the door to the west room is open. At left is the replicated screen door for the entrance into the Library, also painted a light blue. An inscription in blue ink at the bottom of the artifact reads "Tony - painting Basement / Door." In good condition, the object shows little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
