Description

REPLICATED WOOD CARVINGS FOR LA CASA NUEVA DOORS Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of replicated wood carvings for La Casa Nueva doors, ca. January 1979. The items are on a work table and include four rectangular panels reclining against a wall behind the table and two other items lying on the flat part. The panels include two at left with an elaborate floral design and a vase in the middle and two at right of the Temple family coat-of-arms with floral or vine designs surrounding it. All four panels are found on the door from the Main Hall to the Library, though the former are also on the Music Room side of the doors from that room to the Main Hall, as well. Behind three of the panels are black and white photographs, probably used to replicate these panels and others. On the table at center is the repaired cat's head from the courtyard beam--the ears having been replaced and not yet painted. In front of the cat's head is a small, thick square block of wood with a floral carving that may have been used elsewhere in the home. A variety of tools and supplies also covers the table. With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
