REPLICATED WOOD PANELS FOR LA CASA NUEVA DOORS
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of replicated wood carvings for La Casa Nueva doors, ca. February 1979. Two rectangular panels are reclining against the back of a work table and against a white tiled wall. They are of an indentical design, featuring a vase at center and floral or vine elements surrounding it. The one on the left is not painted, however, while the one on the right is a dark brown. Both panels could have been for the Library side of the doors to the Main Hall or for the Music Room side of the doors to the Main Hall. At lower left is a third panel, also not painted, but completed, which has the Temple family motto and a human figure--this was used for the Dining Room side of the doors to the Main Hall. At lower right are a couple of chisels from a group stacked behind the rectangular panels, while a bottle of glue is at lower left. At upper right is a black and white photograph of an original example of the rectangular panels, used for the replication process. In good condition, the object shows little indication of wear or damage.
