"Report of Professor Alexander D. Bache, Superintendent of the Coast Survey, Showing the Progress of That work for the Year Ending October 1850," Ex. Doc. No. 12, House of Representatives, 31st Congress, 2d Session. Sections X and XI concern the coasts of California and Oregon from page 49 and there are other references to California elsewhere. The pages, however, have largely remained uncut. From page 129 to the rear wrapper is detached from the remainder of the report and there are stains, creases, soiling and much edge wear and small tears, so the condition is poor.
