Description
"Report on the Physical and Agricultural Features of the state of California . . .," E. W. Hilgard (Washington: Government Printing Office,) 1884. The work is divided into two parts, the first describing California's geographical and agricultural aspects, with a small section devoted to the Los Angeles area, while the second part concerns cotton raising in the state, including a portion noting early attempts at the practice in the Los Angeles area in the 1850s and 1860s. There is also an agricultural map of the state from 1883 at page seven. With its wrappers detached and significant edge tears, stains, soiling, creases and edge rubbing, the overall condition is poor.
