"Representative and Leading Men of the Pacific," edited by Oscar T. Shuck (San Francisco: Bacon and Company, Printers and Publishers,) 1870. The anthology collects biographical sketches and related documents about men considered eminent in California, including former governors, politicians, legal figures and others. One, E. J. C. Kewen, was a former resident of Los Angeles, and another, Cornelius Cole, later lived there. With the spine separated, the boards heavily worn and pages often foxed and soiled, the condition is poor.
