Description

REPRODUCED CAST-IRON DOOR HINGE FOR LA CASA NUEVA LIVING ROOM Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of a cast-iron hinge from a french door from the La Casa Nueva Living Room to the exterior, ca. 1979. The hinge rests on the unfinished base of a green painted wood support, much like the one that is at the front of the Workman House. The location of the photograph, however, is not known; a concrete curb at the background right may indicate the center driveway gate near the Glorieta. Angled with the longer piece in a horizontal position and the shorter piece vertical, the two are joined at the right and a hole at the point of joining is probably for fastening the hinge to the door. This original hinge was being replicated for the reproduced east french door. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
