Description

Color: Brown A copy of a color polaroid photograph with replacement conchas or bosses for the La Casa Nueva basement door, 28 September 1979. At left is a black and white photograph with the original door and its configuration of conchas. To the right of this are two metal conchas from the house's front door, to be used as casting models for the basement pieces. Below these is a larger wooden carved concha, presumably for casting purposes, as well. A ruler at the upper right is used to show scale. The aforementioned items lie on a plain wood table top, presumably at the location where the carved piece was made. On the reverse is an inscription in black ink reading "Temple Mansion / details for re-creation / of Basement door "bosses" / (see photo on left of orig. door) / -casting models from main front door (above) / -newnew carved boss (below) / photo by archt. 9/28/79." Below this, covered by a piece of tape, is the stamp of restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and telephone number. With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
