Description

RESIDENTIAL STREET AND STREETCAR, LOS ANGELES, 1920s Color: Black; White A photograph of a residential street in an unidentified section of Los Angeles, early 1920s. The view is the side of the street, which is flanked on both sides by many trees, including peppers and eucalypti. Parked along the left side of the road are a few automobiles. In the distancing, approaching the photographer, is a streetcar in the middle of the street. At the far right, a track curves into an unknown location. Power poles and wires are also on the opposite side of the street. On the back upper right is a pen inscription reading "Residence street / Los Angeles, Cal." At the upper left is a stamp reading "FROM THE / LOS ANGELES / CHAMBER OF COMMERCE." At the lower right is a stamp for the Livingston Co. with their address at 720 S. Broadway. The number "20334" is written in pencil at the center. With a crease at the bottom right corner, yellowing on the back, fingerprint stains on the back, a small portion of the lower right corner missing, and a small tear at the bottom, the overall condition is good.
