RESTORATION OF BALCONY, LA CASA NUEVA COURTYARD
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the restoration of the balcony in the courtyard of La Casa Nueva, ca. November 1978. The view is from the top of the stairs looking at a worker on the floor between the stairs and the balcony rail. He is stripping the floor of its paint and works from left to right from the stairs toward the outer rail. It is notable that there is a temporary stair rail on the balcony, while there seems to be original balusters on the steps. Next to the triptych window, however, is a part of a bare wood section of the stair rail--perhaps a newly made section. Long pieces of brown cut wood are on the floor next to the rail behind the worker, though it is not known from where these came or what their use was. In good condition, the artifact shows little indication of wear or damage.
