Description

Color: Black; Gray; Red; White A color polaroid of the restoration of the Workman House east wall, 1977. The two-story house is across the center of the image with the east wall at the bottom. The concrete block wall has sash windows at the far left and right. Between the windows is a door and below the window at the right are two basement vents. The second floor is of red brick and at the center of it is an arched window. The shingled roof is steeply pitched and gabled at the top center of the east wall. Brackets line the bottom edge of the roof. A man in a white shirt and beige pants walks along the house at the far right. Stacks of red brick are at the back of the right and behind these is the parking lot of El Encanto Hospital. At the center of the background is a tree. Written in black ink at the bottom of the image is, "EAST WALL REPLACED / BY TAYLOR MASONRY / AFTER COLLAPSE OF / ORIGINAL ADOBE WALL." At the bottom of the back is, "1 WINTNESSED COLLAPSED [sic] / OF ADOBE WALL / NOBODY WAS INJURED." With only a smearing of the ink at the front, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
