Description

RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES DOCUMENT FOR RANCHO LA PUENTE, 1842 Color: Black; white A document, written in Spanish, pertaining to rights and privileges granted to William Workman for the Rancho La Puente, 9 March 1842. The seven-page document needs to be fully translated to ascertain its meaning, but it concerns certain uses of the land and appears to be a late addition to the grant process initiated by John Rowland in January, because it was submitted the day Rowland received preliminary title to the rancho from Governor Juan B. Alvarado. Written on thin paper and bound with a thin fabric. The condition is poor with stains, tears, discoloration, and creases. From the Thomas Temple Collection, donated by Ruth Ann Michaelis. None.
