Color: Black and white
A black and white photograph of the east elevation of the Rowland House, ca. 1994. Taken from an asphalt parking lot, the image shows the two-story, stuccoed brick home at the center with four Greek revival-style columns at the porch; windows on both sides and floors; a four-gabled roof with a dormer window at the center of the facing gable; and a kitchen addition at the right. In front of the home is a long wistaria arbor on a wood trellis supported by concrete columns. A large patio of concrete is at the front of the house and sidewalks and grass are visible. Toward the foreground is a low chain-link fence with two gates. In the background can be seen some tall trees, especially at right. The home was constructed by John Rowland in 1855 and is now owned by the City of Industry, pending transfer to the La Puente Valley Historical Society, which operated tours of the structure from 1989 until the 1994 Northridge earthquake, shortly after which this image was taken. The image is in mint condition.
