"Royal Cook Book," published by the Royal Baking Powder Company, 1928. The front cover has a black background with the title in red and yellow letters at the top. Underneath this are color images of baked goods, including biscuits, pancakes, a strawberry cake, and donuts. The company name and location are at the bottom. The back cover shows a can of Royal baking powder. The inner front cover is an introduction to the cookbook. Descriptions of cream of tartar and the company's cream of tartar baking soda; an index to recipes, with instructions on how to open a tin of Royal baking powder at the end; a section on how to measure; and general suggestions for baking, including a table of equivalent weights and measures follows. From page three are the listing of recipes by type, including bread and rolls; fritters; cake; icings and fillings; cookies and small cakes; doughnuts; puddings and other desserts; pastry and pies; soups; fish; meats; sauces; eggs; luncheon dishes; vegetables; salads and salad dressings; beverages; candies; fireless cookery; cooking for invalids; preserving and canning; and pickling.
