Rug - hooked, 1" wide border of dark brown, 4 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangular designs around edge in colors of shades of beige, rose, browns, 4 1/2" square at each corner same as rectangle in design, center of rug large leaves(maple) in shades of beige and brown 15 1/2" x 15", clusters of flowers set between leaves, shades of yellow, green, mauve, pink and blue, manufacturer's label (removed from rug and currently in the accession file) reads in black ink on cream fabric (stiffened cotton?) "Spinning Trade-Mark Wheel Hand-Hooked Rug, Made In China, [line drawing of woman working at spinning wheel], Pattern Size", numbers for pattern and size were in red ink but are faded and illegible, top and bottom of label have repeating half spinning wheel pattern in black ink.Lexicon
