Description

"Salient Facts about the New Catalina Casino," published by the Publicity Bureau, The William Wrigley, Jr. Interests, Los Angeles, May 1929. Dated 25 May, four days before the structure's grand opening at Avalon, an essay gives particulars about the building, including its architecture, lighting, organ, art, and other elements. A typed list of the casino's features follows listing amenities, dimensions, structural support, materials, components made from island materials, and information on the theater, ballroom and other spaces, The names of the architects, builder (Wrigley's Santa Catalina Island Company), and lessee and the cost of $2 million are also given. The front page has separated from the two staples at the top and there are creases, small liquid stains, yellowing, soiling and rubbing, mainly to the front page, so the condition is fair overall.
