Description

Color: Black; Orange; White Sheet music for "Sally of My Dreams," written by William Kernell and arranged by Joseph M. Weiss and published by DeSylva, Brown, and Henderson, Inc., 1928. The song, from the Madge Bellany film "Mother Knows Best," produced by William Fox, is a moderate tempo piece with a tuning instruction for the ukulele, though the arrangement was written for the piano. The cover has a sepia tone to it, with the title at the top in white block letters, and the composer's name below in orange letters. To the left is the information on the film from which the song comes. Most of the cover is a head-and-shoulders view of Bellamy. At the bottom left is the publisher's name, and address. Over this is an ink inscription reading "Jeanette," and at the bottom right corner are the initials "J. H. S.," evidently for Jeanette. On the inside front cover and back cover are advertisements with partial scores for four other songs offered by the publisher, two from 1927 and two from 1928. With cover abrasions at the spine, creases on both sides, and stains; page soiling and darkening, and general wear, the artifact is in good condition.
