Description
SAN FRANCISCO MISSIONS BASEBALL CARD, WHITNEY, 1928
Color: Black; White
A baseball card of Pacific Coast League player Whitney of the San Francisco Missions, 1928. The image shows the player facing the camera on a baseball field in uniform posed just after hitting a ball and he holds a bat by the handle in both hands with the bat over his left shoulder. In the background is what appears to be a stadium dugout. At the bottom right is the inscription "28/ ZEENUT / SERIES / WEIS / MISSIONS." Zeenut, a food producer, distributed the cards. With a great deal of soiling, abraded edges with losses, dented corners, and creases, the artifact is in fair condition.
