Description

Color: Black; Brown; White A black and white stereoview of navel orange groves in the San Gabriel Valley, ca. 1926. The artifact is of brown cardboard with two side-by-side images on the center of the front. The identical images, which were for viewing through a stereoscope, feature a valley with many rows of orange trees. In the distance are some homes, hills, and mountains. At the top between the two images is "322." At the bottom right is, "More than 10,000 Acres of Naval [sic] Orange / Groves, San Gabriel Valley, California." Down the far left is the name of the Keystone View Company with its location down the right side. On the back is a brief history of the orange industry in southern California. With only light abrasions along the edges and a slight darkening of the paper, the object is in good condition.
