Description

Ten photographs adhered to five black album sheets with scenes from the Los Angeles Prosperity Week parade in 1910. Each sheet includes one photograph pasted onto each side. The pages were previously bound in an album and torn at the right edge. The parade celebrated the products produced by Los Angeles as well as commerce and business in the area. Scenes include horse drawn floats in the middle of the street, audience gathered on the streets, multi-story commercial buildings in the background, fruit vendors with produce on carts, an electric railway trolley in the parade. Several of the sheets include pencil inscriptions. With browning, mirroring, fading, and yellowing of some of the photographs, the lot are in fair to good condition.
