Description

Color: Black; White A black and white reproduction photograph of Scripps College student Elizabeth Dawson Hansen seated in an outdoor chair, ca. 1929. Mrs. Hansen wore a very light-colored outfit with pleated skirt, light-colored hose and shoes and sat with her legs crossed in a chair that might have been wicker. The chair is on a patch of grass next to an area of flagstone that ran next to a building, which is only partially seen in the background. It is presumed, however, that this was Toll Hall, where the students lived. A small tree is in a planter next to the wall of the building. Two post-it notes, removed for the accession file, were at the center reverse. The upper, in yellow, has a black ink inscription reading "Betty Dawson Hansen / (Elizabeth)." The lower, in blue, has a blue ink inscription reading "Unknown #20 / Scripps woman / c. 1927-1929." Beneath these, in pencil, is the inscription "170 / 20." With little or no indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
