SCRIPPS COLLEGE STUDENTS AT PARTY, POSSIBLY AT POMONA COLLEGE

A black and white reproduction photograph of a students from Scripps College at a party, possibly at Pomona College, ca. 1927-28. The group of about 45 persons is in a living room or parlor, likely at a residence hall with many seated on the floor, others in chairs and some standing. Dress is formal with most women wearing sleeveless dresses, some with corsages and the five men in the image wearing tuxedos, though it is possible these men are faculty from the college and the gathering may be at Scripps. A tiled fireplace with dark-wood mantle and trim is at left with two candlesticks on the mantle. A painting hangs on the fireplace. There is a metal chandelier at the upper edge and parts of two windows at the left with curtains. A pencil inscription at the center of the reverse reads "170 / 27." With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
