Description
"Section Bernardino Pass from East to West along the Trail from San Bernardino to the Colorado Desert," William P. Blake, Sections 10-11, Plate VII, United States Pacific Railroad Explorations and Surveys, 1853. The lithograph shows mileage and elevations at points from the Mojave (Colorado) Desert to the summit at Cajon (Bernardino) Pass and Pauline Weaver's ranch and down to the town of San Bernardino and also shows the geologic material in the substrate. There is an inset at the top right showing a section of Cajon Pass from north to south between San Bernardino and San Gorgonio. With some foxing, soiling, creases, original folds and tears from removal, the overall condition is fair.
