Description
SECTION OF 1920S PIPE FENCING IN EL CAMPO SANTO--SOUTHEAST CORNER
Color: Black; Green; Red
A color photograph of a section of 1920s pipe fencing at the southeast corner of El Campo Santo, ca. 1977. The end-post is tilted and the connecting horizontal pipes on both sides, four on each, have separated and are suspended near the post. On the interior, there is a bush or shrub, while the exterior section consists largely of plowed dirt, probably from the backhoe that is in the background left. It seems that, amidst the growth of the bush, there are some bricks at the base of the fence. Items .1007-.1010 show the pipe fence with brick at the base and without and, in this latter case, this is true for the opposite corner at the northeast side. It is not clear if the damage to this corner preexisted the restoration or was done by the plowing. Other than some residue from photo album adhesive on the upper part of the reverse, the artifact is in good condition.
