"SEEING LOS ANGELES," GRAY LINE TOUR PAMPHLET, 1928
Color: Blue; Green; White; Yellow
"Seeing Los Angeles," a pamphlet issued by the Association of Gray Line Owners, 1928. The covers are identical, having the title at the top and the diamond-shaped logo of "The Gray Line," just below. An image of a Gray Line touring bus driving on a country road with a large grove of trees and a yellow-orange sky in the background, takes up much of the covers. At the bottom are the Los Angeles addresses and telephone numbers of the company. The inner centerfold is a color map of the United States and portions of Canada with indications of company offices, as well as insets of the Hawaiian Islands territory and the London area of England, where there are other branches. Addresses and telephone numbers of branches are listed at the bottom with the association headquarters identified as Baltimore. Inner pages concern East Coast locations and offered tours; information on the vehicles that serviced Los Angeles; and individual pages devoted to tours of various southern California locations. The inner centerfold provides images of Los Angeles hotels serving as starting points for these tours. Addresses and rates of these hostelries are also provided. The last few pages concern California programs, more information on southern California offerings, tours of San Francisco, and Western American locations and tour offerings. There are many photographs and a few maps. With some abrasions and rubbing on the spine, slight cover soiling, a few stains on the back, and rust at the staples, the document is in good overall condition.Lexicon
