The 204-page hardcover book, without a dustjacket, has a red cover with gold lettering and detailing for a front cover image of a farm with laborers picking fruits and a palm tree draped with a grapevine. Amidst this is the title and the signed last name of the author. The same layout is on the back cover, but the gold lettering is worn away. On the spine, again in gold, is the title. The contents, which were serialized in Truman's newspaper, the "Los Angeles Star," contains material on various sections of southern California and includes descriptions of towns and townships, individual ranches and farms, climate, crops grown, and potential development. There are no illustrations nor an index to the book, which is in fair condition with spine rubbing; dented corners; surface soiling to the cover; faded lettering; cover stains; torn or abraded sections of the cloth; and discolored pages.Lexicon
