Description

SERVICE BOX INSTALLATION AND DOOR PAINT STRIPPING, WATER TOWER Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the newly installed circuit-breaker box and paint stripping of one-half of an entry door, Water Tower, 18 June 1977. The breaker box, a gray color with gray conduit lines running out of it down toward the floor of the room, is mounted on the original brick wall, which is exposed in a square around the box, while the rest of the wall is still plastered. At the base of the box, on the floor, is one half of one of the entry doors to the structure, being stripped of the as-found brown paint. Much of the glass is missing and there is a can, presumably of paint-thinner, a hammer, a bag of aggregate perlite plaster, and much debris scattered on the floor. An inscription in pencil at the bottom of the artifact reads "Watch Tower - New Service & Exposed / Section of Original Brick Wall / At East Side 6/13/77 / Also Stripping Door in Progress." In good condition, the object shows little evidence of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
