Description
Photogaph "Seven Colted tank crews and trucks leaving Western Pipe and Steel Co's plant each morning," Putnam Studios, Los Angeles, ca. 1920s. There are ten vehicles and a few dozen men standing near or leaning against them as they are parked in front of a single-story high-ceilinged commercial building. A railroad track is in the foreground near the photographer. The title is in white letters at the bottom and the studio's stamp is at the bottom of the reverse. The firm included officers who founded, in 1918, the Southwestern Shipbuilding Company, which made vessels for the American war effort in Europe. With some minor soiling, abrasions, moderate warping, and discoloration, the overall condition is fair.
