Description
SHAVING MUG WITH FLORAL PAINTING AND PERSONALIZED OTIS CHANDLER
A shaving mug, ca. 1900-1930. The mug has a handle with a gold detailing around it, gold bands at the lip and base of the cup. The side is largely painted with roses and leaves in green, yellow, and pink, though there is an unpainted section. Also, written in gold lettering is "Otis Chandler." The mug may have belonged to the Los Angeles Times publisher of that name, though no documentation came with the piece. Just below the handle is the name "Myers", probably the name of the artist who painted the floral design. The cup is divided with a section for keeping soap and the open section for water, as in a regular mug. Aside from a little scuffing on the bottom, there are no discernible signs of wear or damage.
