Description

"'Sheath' Gown in Los Angeles 414-2," ca. 1900s. The image shows a woman in a floor-length gown with appliques throughout, elbow-length gloves, a high collar and a hat, standing profile and looking away from the camera. She stands in front of a creased fabric barrier and on a rug, but not in a polished studio setting. The caption is at the bottom. A stamp from a New York firm is on the reverse as is a bar code. With soiling, some stains, small missing sections from two corners and rubbing, the condition is good overall.
