Description

Color: Brown; Silver A shoe stretcher by Repco, patented May 1, 1923. The item consists of a metal lever and a wooden shoe mold. The lever has a handle to which is attached a rod that extends into the mold. When the handle is turned the mold expands outward to stretch the shoe. The wooden mold has four holes on each side. The two in the back have metal pieces that are part of the expanding rod. The others do not appear to have any specific function. On the back of the mold is a hinge with four screws holding the two expandable parts together. At the edge of the back is etched "2 / REPCO / PAT. MAY 1,1923." Towards the toe side of the mold there is some fabric remnants adhered to the mold. Red paint is found on the mold and on one section of the lever. With scratches throughout, abrasions, chips, tarnish, and the paint marks, the overall condition is fair.
