"Siera [sic] Madre Villa," by Elias A. Bonine, Pasadena, 1890s. The view is taken from a vegetable field next to an orchard and looks northeast towards the large buildings of the resort hotel, of which there are three structures in view, though partially obscured by the landscape. In the distance are the San Gabriel Mountains. On the reverse is Bonine's cartouche and there are several pencil and ink inscriptions including the resort name, the name of a woman and the location of Superior, Wisconsin. With mount curvature, some stains on the reverse and edge rubbing, the condition is good overall.
