Description
A real photo postcard, "Signal Hill Oil Fields Showing New Field in the Distance," Warren Sargent, ca. 1920s. The view shows forests of derricks in the foreground and in the distance, as well as tanks, structures, steam rising from the pumps, open pools of oil, and other details. Far off in the background are some residential areas. The caption with Sargent's address is within the image at the lower left along with a number "5" toward the center. The postally unused card has light soiling, minor staining on the reverse and some abrasions along the edge and is in good overall condition.
