Description
SILHOUETTE PORTRAIT AND CALENDAR, THOMAS W. TEMPLE II TO WALTER P. TEMPLE, SR., 1926
Color: Blue, black, red, green
A gift silhouette drawing and portrait calendar from Thomas W. Temple II to Walter P. Temple, Sr., 26 January 1926. The item folds in half and is a piece of blue construction paper. On one half of the paper is a silhouette showing Thoams Temple's profile and he wearing what looks like a snap-brim cap. At the top is the phrase "New Year's Greeting" and there is a stylized border around the portrait. At the bottom right is an image in red and green of a potted poinsettia. The other half has a 1926 calendar with a cover showing a poinsettia flower and the phrase "Days of the/ Year." Written in pencil just below the silhouette is "1-26-26", assumed to be the date the portrait was made. While the paper cover is creased; and badly discolored in portions, the silhouette and calendar have a few creases and light discoloration. In all, the object is in fair condition.
