Description

Color: Black, silver A silver-handled metal carving fork, ca. 1880s. The item, part opf a set with items .2 and .3, has a handle with the ends in silver with an intricate floral design of flowers, leaves, and branches. In between the ends is what looks like leather with beaten marks. The two pronged fork section has a support attached to it that may be used to keep the forked section off the table when the item is not in use. On the inside of this apparatus is "PAT JULY 6th 1886." This item may have belonged to Lucille Workman Buehler (1874-1944), whose granddaughter donated it. In good condition, the metal sections are tarnished and scratched and the leather portion of the handle is worn from handling.
