Description

Color: Black, silver A silver-handled metal carving knife, ca. 1880s. The item has a handle with the ends in silver with an intricate floral design of flowers, leaves, and branches. In between the ends is what looks like leather with beaten marks. The blade is pointed at the end and the cutting edge has a wave-like shape to it. The top edge has a thicker bar of metal at the handle end and a smaller bar projects out from the handle in the middle of the blade. Donated by the granddaughter of Lucille Workman, the piece may have been used by Workman. The item, part of a set with .1 and .3, is in good condition with tarnishing and scratches on the metal and some wear on the leather section of the handle.
