Color: Green; Orange; White
A pamphlet from Soboba Mineral Hot Springs at San Jacinto, California, ca. 1930. The front panel has an image of an Indian on a mountian overlooking the resort, with its title in orange and green letters at the top, the city and elevation, along with a note that the resort was open year-round and the owner and manager's name at the bottom. When fully opened, the item has six panels with photographs of the various lodgings, all structures in Southwest and Indian motifs, including "The Pima, which is an stuccoed Tepee-shaped structure with a brush porch cover. This was the inspiration for the Tepee at La Casa Nueva from Walter P. Temple's visits to Soboba. Images of the springs, a swimming pool, bath hose, ramada, dining room, and golf course are also included. Text includes information on the "Indian Village;" the cottages; sports and recreation; means; the mineral waters, including an analysis of the mineral content; and the bath house, including prices for services. On two of the back panels is a regional map showing the springs and its proximity to Los Angeles and San Diego. Rates, general information, and directions are provided. The final two panels on the back give more information about the resort with photos. With corner and spine rubbing; a creased bottom right corner of the front cover; light soiling; and small tears on the right side and spine, the condition is good.Lexicon
