Description

SOUTH SIDE OF CHURCH AND RECTORY, MISSION SAN GABRIEL Color: Black; White A photograph of the south side of the old church and rectory at the Mission San Gabriel, 1900. The view is from Mission Road and shows a portion of the adobe rectory with a steep shingled roof at the far left and the entirety of the stone church's south wall and bell tower. There are several palm trees planted between the church and rectory and the road and wooden barriers next to a couple of the trees. At the far right is a power pole and a person walking on the road near the pole. On the reverse is the penciled number "30" near the center and a pencil mark that may be a number "1" or an incidental marking at the top right. With remnants of adhesive, possibly from a scrapbook on the reverse; surface soiling; yellowing; warping; and light stains on both sides, the overall condition is good. Number-Units: 1
