Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the south window in Walter Jr.'s bedroom in La Casa Nueva, ca. 1978. The two french doors are backlighted, showing the six panels and the glass work contained in them. At top left is a sheild at the center with the Latin initials for Jesus, "IHS." At top right is the Spanish coat-of-arms of the royal houses, Castile y Leon. The bottom right has another shield with the Lamb of God, featuring a halo over its head and holding a staff with a banner in its right foreleg. The bottom left shield is a crown through which extends a white cross. The left center panel is St. Teresa with a halo around her head and shafts of sunlight coming from the right. In her hands she holds a figurine of Christ on the cross around which are roses. The right panel is St. Rita, who gazes down at the figure of Christ on the cross, which is illuminated by an aura. In each panel the leading is at diagonals creating diamond shapes around the stained glass work and square and rectangular designs, as well. Because of the backlighting, the wood frames cannot be seen except in shadow. In good condition, the image has little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
