The softcover item has an oil painting by Orrin A. White of a large Spanish-style building on a cliff overlooking the ocean and with purple mountains in the background. The item is a photo essay of features of the region for tourists and shows, among things, the missions; old adobe houses; highways; ocean beaches; Catalina Island; the mountains; Death Valley; oranges; a two-page aerial view of Los Angeles; the Huntington Library; homes; the Hollywood Bowl; Grauman's Chinese Theater; the Coliseum; sports activities; and more.
