"Southern California Tourist," May 1927, published by The Southern California Tourist Information Bureaus. On the front cover is the publication title and the subtitle "VACATION NUMBER" at the bottom. An image of a mission-like area with a walkway and gardens with palm trees, orange trees, and flowers is the background, as is an image of the southern part of the state, but there is a banner with a photograph of the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles at the lower center. Contents include information on a variety of southern California destinations and communities, including Pomona; Orange County; Pasadena; an Atascadero poultry plant; Los Angeles; Riverside County; the missions; Ventura County; music in Los Angeles; the San Gabriel Valley; other southern California towns and communities, including, on page 54, Temple and, on page 85, Puente; San Diego County; sports locations; San Bernardino County; railroad trips; and others. Lists of regional chambers of commerce, golf clubs, and cities and towns with populations, elevations, and distances from Los Angeles and advertisements are also included and there are many photographs and some maps, including a centerfold of the Pacific Electric Railway system, in the artifact. With spine rubbing; heavy soiling on the cover; page yellowing; silverfish damage on the cover; mustiness; cover stains; and some loss at the upper right corner to the cover printing, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
