SOUTHERN PACIFIC LINES TIMETABLE, JANUARY 1928

A timetable for Southern Pacific Railroad Company lines in northwestern and southwestern states and parts of Mexico, January 1928. The front and back covers are identical, in having fields of blue with white lettering, consisting of "SOUTHERN / PACIFIC / LINES" at the top, the lines' logo at the center, and the names of eight states and Mexico at the bottom, under which is a statement that the timetable was "SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE" and that it was "CORRECTED TO JANUARY, 1928." Page one, the inside of the covers has a general index and information about the various routes encompassed in the guide, as well as information on baggage, how to read the timetable, and information on the extent of company-owned lines. On the next two pages is an index of stations, followed by sections on the Sunset Route, between Los Angeles and New Orleans; the Golden State Route between Los Angeles and Chicago; local service in Arizona; the tourist sleeper from Washington, D. C. to Los Angeles; other company travel booklets; the West Coast route from San Francisco to Mexico City; the Overland Route from San Francisco to Chicago; other more localized routes, including the Coast Route between Los Angeles and San Francisco and other California routes; a centerfold map of the entire system; Pacific Electric Railway lines, including to Temple; steamship connections; and a directory of Southern Pacific representatives. In good condition, there are creases, surface soiling, some paper discoloration, a missing bottom right corner of the front; and a red stain on the front title.Lexicon
