Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the southwestern corner of the La Casa Nueva Main Hall, ca. 1943. The photographer stands near a marble-top table that is near the center of the room on a large Persian rug. At the back is the lower portion of the stairs, with the rows of Mexican tiles and wood and decorative iron work railing and grille. On the wall next to the bottom of the stairs are three switchplates. Above them is the lower portion of the corbel that is furthest south on the west wall. Under the stairs is the door to the courtyard, wth much light shining through it. At the top left is a part of the wood for the triptych window, but the glass is not visible. At the reverse center is the penciled number "8," while at the top left is the pencil inscription "Ca. 1943." With some light surface soiling and light discoloration, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
